Browse catalogue scans and recorded entries, search known patterns, or identify glass from recorded properties.

Catalogues in the Reference Library

Reference Library > Catalogues lists established catalogue sources and their page/entry totals. Its search can match source, publisher, year, maker, page title or notes, and recorded pattern details.
The main Reference Library word search may also show catalogue sources and may find published research records through their linked catalogue source/page metadata.
A Reference Library record can link directly to an existing catalogue source and page. The record's own publication and access policy still controls who can read that record.

Browse pages and entries

Select a catalogue source, then select or tap a page thumbnail. The optional page-title preference is retained for the signed-in account, or in the browser for public visitors.
Website order, printed page number and source-scan order are separate. Covers, contents, inserts, dividers and other unnumbered leaves can appear anywhere; missing printed numbers remain gaps and later pages are never renumbered.
On a page, use the previous, alternate-scan, catalogue-overview and next controls. These controls remain visible on narrow iPhone screens without horizontal page scrolling.
Page scans, page notes, patterns, makers, item types, known colours, recorded sizes and linked public/shared item counts retain their existing behaviour.
Signed-in users with collection editing rights can create an item from a catalogue entry. Public visitors can follow patterns to public collections but cannot create items.
Public browsing is controlled by the existing public catalogue setting. Signed-in catalogue use keeps the established access rules.

Pattern search and identification

Pattern search and property-based identification require sign-in plus the existing catalogue/item viewing permission. Public catalogue browsing remains available when enabled.

Deliberately unchanged

The catalogue browser is connected to the Reference Library without replacing catalogue tables, renaming established routes, changing import/export formats or altering catalogue access settings.
